I design buildings to impact people's lives positively, mentally and physically. Coming from a culture, background and generation where there is a lot of stimulation, stress and societal pressure, my work aims to take you out of that space to live within yourself in peace and harmony. I aim to use naturally available materials to craft an experience close to nature. I use wood, stone and marble primarily in all my work to imply textures which are found in nature. My forms lean towards simple, monolithic designs which stand heavy and strong, giving a grounded visual feel. Interiors are designed like natural biomes mimicking nature, for example a house designed with its primary material as stone mimics caves. I am influenced by my culture's societal norms and past experiences in life to design spaces which can serve as therapists just by being in the building and experiencing the materials and atmosphere. The House of Meditation, a recent project I undertook personally, encompasses my philosophy of a space where you can come, meditate, and live outside the noisy world in your own world for a period of time. The space is designed with wood seating and has masoned, white stone walls, which mimics the environment of a cave, bringing you closer to nature and far from society. I believe great art is where a person can feel impacted or moved. By crafting human experiences to positively impact people's lives, I believe that I can improve people's lives and provide them with the best house, which is themselves.
